Strictly's Helen Skelton is 'back to earth with a bang' as she looks after kids in costume

Helen Skelton revealed she has returned 'back to earth with a bang' as she was backing looking after her three children following her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

The Countryfile presenter, 39, has spent the last few months rehearsing and performing in the ballroom of the BBC dance competition.

The mum made it all the way to the final with professional dance partner Gorka Márquez with fellow presenter Hamza Yassin and his dance partner Jowita Przystał taking home the glitterball trophy.

And now, after weeks of non-stop dancing, Helen has returned to everyday life and shared a glimpse of it on Instagram.

The presenter shared a snap of her holding her daughter Elsie Kate, almost one, while the two donned elf costumes.

Little Elsie laughed with joy as her mother gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Did a food shop whilst eating a baguette," she captioned the post.

"Kids made me make tea whilst dressed as an elf. Back to life with a bang."

Meanwhile, Helen recently revealed whether Strictly Come Dancing 'mended her broken heart' after having a tough year.

The star split from ex-husband Richie Myler a couple of months after welcoming Elsie into the world.

During an appearance on Lorraine on Monday morning, Helen admitted that she had 'found herself' again on the dance floor.

Speaking to host Ranvir Singh, who was filling in for Lorraine Kelly, Helen said her life has changed for the better since her stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

Ranvir said: "It's as if you mended you mended your heart live on air. You sort of represented so many people who need to put their life back together, and I applaud you for what you have done.

Helen responded to the host: "Look, I just wanted to make my kids proud. And every day that I have been going to work over the last three months, they have asked me if I'm trying to win the Glitterball.

"We didn't quite bring home that trophy but we made memories that will last a lifetime."

Back in April, Helen announced that she and her husband Richie had split in an emotional Instagram post to her followers.

She shared two heartbreak emojis as she shared the emotional news with her fans.

"Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple," Helen said at the time.

"He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children."

The former couple share three children together, Ernie, six, Louis, five, and Elsie Kate.
