Strictly's Giovanni Pernice teases 'dream project' as fans make plea over BBC show

Giovanni Pernice has put pen to paper on what he described as a 'dream' project overseas, prompting fans to plead with the Strictly Come Dancing star not to leave the BBC show.

Since making an earlier than expected exit from the Strictly ballroom last year, when he and The One Show's Richie Anderson, were the second couple to be voted off the show; Giovanni has been kept very busy with his own sell out tour, Made in Italy, which played to audiences all over the country after kicking off in January, including London's iconic Palladium.

Having turned down Strictly's own live tour to do his own show, Giovanni, who won the Glitterball trophy in 2021 alongside Rose Ayling-Ellis, then hit the promotional trial for his and judge Anton Du Beke's BBC series, Adventures in Sicily, as the two travelled to Giovanni's homeland, being joined by Rose half way through.

Giovanni will be back on Strictly for its new series in the autumn, although he has already told fans he will miss the tour for a second year, having already confirmed dates for his next live show, Let Me Entertain You.

And now, all the signs are pointing to Giovanni having something else major up his sleeve, as he posted a photo on his Instagram grid of him signing a contract for something in Dubai, which he captioned: "Can’t wait to share with you all what I have been up to. One of my dream projects finally is coming to life! Let’s play the game .. can you guess what it is ?"

Fans were quick to respond ro the post, with many excited as to what it could be, as others willed him not to leave Strictly. One replied: "Gio whatever happens do not leave strictly please and thank you," with a second commenting: "Hope whatever it is we don’t lose you from strictly just yet."

Many of Giovanni's followers suggested that he could have been signing on the dotting line to have a residency in Dubai, or to take his next tour there.
