Strictly's Giovanni Pernice makes Instagram promise to fans after 'proud' career high

Giovanni Pernice has made a vow to fans to make his next tour 'bigger and better' than his current one, after he played to a packed house at the iconic London Palladium at the weekend.

There was disappointment amongst Strictly Come Dancing fans at the start of the year, when Giovanni was missing in action from the show's annual arena tour, with Gorka Marquez's absence landing a double blow to everyone who had tickets. But there was a very good reason for Giovanni turning down the chance to tour with his co-stars - he was kicking off his own nationwide jaunt with his Made in Italy show.

Since opening in January, Made in Italy has played to capacity crowds all over the UK and Ireland, with former Strictly champion Giovanni being joined in the cast by fellow pro Lauren Oakley as fans heaped praise on him and his team.

And on Sunday, Giovanni, who will be back on Strictly this year, was over the moon to be playing the London Palladium, in the heart of the capital. Following in the footsteps of a whole host of entertainment legend, Giovanni delighted a full audience at the world famous venue and was quick to wax lyrical about the 'pinch yourself' moment on Instagram.

Posting a photo of himself outside the Palladium, he wrote: "One day somebody told me 'Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.' And last night I felt proud of myself ! Played my OWN SOLO SHOW in one of the most iconic theatre in Europe!"

Giovanni added: "I'm grateful to all the 2300 people seating in the audience making sure that we were having the best time of our lives on stage !! We felt the love... moments like this I will always treasure in my heart THANK YOU," before ending the post with a vow to his fans, writing: "Now I have to top that up for next year… loooooooooove the challenge.. you know me bigger and better !! I promise."
