Strictly's Giovanni Pernice enlists help of show 'legend' for his own tour

Giovanni Pernice has delighted Strictly fans by teaming up with legend from the BBC show, Vincent Simone, for his new tour.

Following his early exit from the latest series of Strictly in the autumn, fans were hoping to see Giovanni in action on the show’s arena tour, so it came as an unwanted surprise to see his name missing from the tour line-up when it was confirmed in full right before Christmas.

However, the blow of the 2021 Strictly champion pro not doing the arena tour was softened by the fact that Giovanni is hitting the road, but on his own tour, Made in Italy, which will soon take up residence at theatres across the country.

Giovanni kicked off rehearsals for his show earlier this month, announcing to fans that another Strictly pro, Lauren Oakley, would be his leading lady for Made in Italy.

And Lauren now isn’t the only well known face from the show to be involved. On Friday, the night after he and judge Anton Du Beke premiered their BBC show Adventures in Sicily, Giovanni took to Instagram to reveal that there would be an Argentine tango section in Made in Italy, and to make sure it is a skyway perfect, he has enlisted the help of Strictly king of the Argentine tango, Vincent Simone.

Vincent was on Strictly from 2006-2016, partner celebs like Louisa Lytton and Rachel Stevens and is also a UK Argentine tango champion and world finalist.

Revealing he'd recruited Vincent to help choregraph Made in Italy, as they posed together, Giovanni said: "So for Made in Italy we have Argentine Tango, for the first time ever in my show and I asked the king, the legend Vincent Simone to choregraph."
