Strictly Come Dancing's Fleur East admitted she was confused after she was left in the dance-off again on Sunday's show.
The Sax star, 35, ended up in the unenviable position for the second time after her performance with Vito Coppola failed to impress the judges.
Speaking about her shock when she heard her name called out alongside EastEnders ' James Bye, Fleur said on her Hits Breakfast Radio Show: "I have no idea why I’m in the bottom two – it’s out of my hands, out of my control.
"All I can do is rehearse every week and do my best, have the most fun and that’s what I’m doing.
"All I hope is that we do enough this week to get through but it is getting so tough. We’re halfway now, halfway through the competition and everyone’s so good and everyone’s working really hard."
Unfortunately for Fleur, the results were announced on her birthday, making the Halloween special more trick than treat for the star.
She lamented: "Another Halloween scare for me! I was like surely not, surely the Strictly gods are smiling down on me - it’s my birthday!
"I honestly thought ‘this is it, I’m gone’ because I was in the dance off again, so I was prepared but I was so very, very thankful to the judges for saving us. I’m having such a good time, I love dancing with Vito and I feel like we’ve got so much more to show, so I’m really happy we’re here for another week."
Italian dancer Vito also looked crestfallen when the pair's names were read out.
He said: "‘Usually I love the colour red but now with that red light[that means we’re in the dance off] I don’t like it anymore!
"When you are in the middle, and not on top or bottom of the leader board then it’s very dangerous. People want to save the last couple so they sometimes forget about the people in the middle and think OK they don’t need the votes, but everyone needs to be helped."
He went on to praise his partner for being "one of the strongest people I’ve ever met".
However, he pointed out Fleur was a human being with feelings and encouraged her fans to vote.
The singer had a bit of a mishap on the dance floor on Saturday when she slipped up during her salsa.
Explaining what had happened, Fleur said: "Last week I knocked my big toenail against Vito’s heel during rehearsals for our salsa and my nail is now just about hanging on, it’s literally a matter of days before it comes off.
"It doesn’t look pretty and I had to dance with my big toe bandaged up on Saturday. And then I tripped in the dance off as I slipped doing a back bend!"
Vito added: "I tried to help her but when I turned around she had already got up again and started dancing! She stood up so fast so I went to help her - like a gentleman! - and she was already up. I was so excited I screamed ‘Go Fleur’".
