Fleur East has revealed that she's going on a social media break so that she doesn't ruin her experience on Strictly with negative comments.
The singer, 34, isn't a stranger to the reality TV circuit after having risen to fame in 2013 on The X Factor and going on to compete on 2018's I'm A Celeb and 2020 series Don't Rock The Boat. As a result, however, she is likely much more conscious about negative comments on social media.
Quizzed on whether she would be checking social media following her dances to see how her performances have been received, she firmly responded that no, she would not.
Speaking to the Mirror and other news outlets, she replied: "Oh no, I'm not going to look at anything! I'm just going to dance and have fun!"
She also insisted that musicians and singers don't actually find it easier to dance, despite having rhythm.
"Because as a singer you're there to fill the stage and there to entertain the crowd," she explained. "So it's always playing out to an audience and there's no gaps in that - you've always got to keep moving.
"But with this, we're going to have to be very controlled, slow, arms got to be somewhere, neck's got to be somewhere, toes got to be somewhere else... it's going to be a lot!
Fleur also revealed that she would be dancing to co-star Matt Goss' song at some point on the show.
"We've decided that you're going to dance to my song Sax and I'm going to dance to one of his songs," she said.
