Strictly's Flavia Cacace and actor husbby Jimi Mistry swap spotlight for farm living

Former Strictly Come Dancing pro Flavia Cacace has revealed she and husband Jimi Mistry have swapped the spotlight to run a farm in North Devon.

The 2012 Strictly winner and her actor beau were forced to take time away from the stage with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which shut down productions and theatres during the nation’s lockdowns.

While they enjoy a break from their day jobs, the couple have documented their move to the southwest coast of England on their Instagram account @OurLifeAtTheBarn.

The bio for the social media account reads: "Follow us @flavia_cacace @mistryeats and #pabloandzak on our life changing journey as we move to the country and follow our self sustainable dream".

The showbiz couple revealed on their Instagram they are working on a new kitchen in their country home – and hinted to some exciting plans, alluding to a retreat of sorts in their hashtags.

The caption read: "Working late tonight painting getting things together ready for a new kitchen and other exciting things happening which will all be revealed soon.

“#ourlifeatthebarn #renovations #livinginthecountry #excitingplans #lookingfwd #growveg #retreat."

The pair first revealed they were moving to the countryside in January and ever since have showed off their penchant for growing their own veg, including cucumbers, beetroots, potatoes and spinach.

More recently, Flavia and East Is East actor Jimi announced they were getting their own chickens and documented their chicken coup build on their social media.

Flavia, 41, found fame on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2006.

The star had impressed show bosses after she appeared as a guest choreographer with her dance partner Vincent Simone to choreograph an unscored group Argentine Tango in 2005.

Joining the pro line-up for the fourth series, she was first partnered with Jimmy Tarbuck and went on to win the show in 2012 with celeb partner Louis Smith.

After lifting the mirrorball trophy, the Italian-born star announced in 2013 that she and Vincent would no longer be competing on the BBC ballroom stalwart so they could work on other shows.

Aside from her dance career, Flavia and EastEnders star Jimi first met when they were partnered on Strictly in 2010 and went on to say ‘I do’ in 2013.
