The so-called 'Strictly curse' is something that dogs celebrities and their professional dance partners throughout their time on the BBC show. The curse is now so infamous some celebrities jokingly refuse to sign up to the show for that very reason.

Since the show debuted in 2004, almost a dozen couples have called time on their relationship thanks to the celebrity partner participating on the BBC show. Throughout 18 series, romance has also blossomed between the stars and the professional dancers.

Ellie's sketch in 2017 then continued to feature a 'scientist' who mocked how the infamous 'curse' good transpire, and even joined the comedian in making a series of lighthearted quips about what the celebrity contestants say about their off-screen relationships.

Cutting back to the comedian on her own, Ellie then concluded saying: "It seems we will never know how these relationships turn sexual, that friendship seemed as genuinely sweet as Tess Daly’s smile."

"I've got a list of music tracks on my phone - it's getting longer and longer," she said, revealing she was already thinking about the music. "The dancing bit is what is completely out of my comfort zone."

She added: "I've watched the show for years so to be able to take to the dance floor is a dream come true, for both me and mum who is a Strictly super fan. At the moment I'm focusing on the excitement and glitter and choosing to ignore the fact that I have the dancing ability of a newly born giraffe. Bring it on!"
