Strictly's Ellie Taylor 'confuses' viewers with apology as music stops

Ellie Taylor confused some Strictly Come Dancing viewers on Saturday night as she was overheard apologising to pro partner Johannes Radebe as the music stopped in Blackpool. Ellie and Johannes topped the leaederboard in Halloween Week with their routine to Hocus Pocus' anthem I Put A Spell On You.

Both Ellie and Johannes were absolutely delighted at the prospect of getting to dance in the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool as the BBC show returned to the 'Vegas of the North' for the first time in three years. They aimed to impress the judges with an American Smooth to Cilla Black classic You're My World, Chronicle Live reports.

Ellie swept across the floor of the world famous venue, however, as the routine came to an end and the song finished, Ellie was overheard giving a very clear apology to Johannes, telling him: "Oh my god, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

While the judges had some constructive criticism for Ellie, with Anton Du Beke telling her she needed to work on her neck placement a bit more and Craig Revel-Horwood remarking that the comedian's arm was "a bit Barbie doll," none of them mentioned any glaring errors in the performance and gave it a 31 out of 40, meaning many viewers were left wondering why Ellie was so quick to apologise.

One took to Twitter to post: "Why was Ellie repeatedly saying sorry to Johannes at the end of their dance then?" with another tweeting: "Did I just hear Ellie say “I’m so sorry” to Johannes there?"

Suggesting some reasons for her apology, a fellow viewer replied: "I think she totally froze and forgot the routine right at the beginning. Was fine in Johannes arms." while another responded: "Yes, unsure why."
