Amy Dowden has shared a major update on her wedding plans. The Strictly Come Dancing professional is getting married later this year after postponing her original big day due to Covid-19.
The 31-year-old, who was born in Caerphilly, is tying the knot to her fiancé Benjamin Jones. The couple had been due to get married in July 2020, but it was delayed due to the pandemic.
And ahead of the nuptials, Amy has announced she has decided on her bridal gown. The dancer revealed saying yes to the dress was a moment she'd "dreamed about since being a little girl" and confirmed her wedding is now just weeks away.
Posing with the team at Laura May Bridal in Cardiff, Amy told her 315k followers: "That moment you've dreamed about since a little girl saying YES TO THE DRESS!
"Thank you so much lovely ladies @lauramaybridal! I'm soooooooo excited! Just weeks away #wedding #yestothedress #lauramaybridal #wales #bridetobe."
Amy got engaged to her partner Ben, who is also a dancer, on New Year's Eve in 2017. The couple were forced to postpone the big day, however, due to government restrictions surrounding Covid-19 at the time.
Sharing a video on what would have been her wedding day in 2020, Amy wrote: "So today should have been my last day as a Miss.
"Obviously it's not, really few mixed emotions. I should be on my way now to the cottage with my bridesmaids and my family… spending the night together playing games and probably me being really nervous.
"Ben would have been on his way to the other cottage… obviously we would have stayed apart! But I guess we have all this to come. Just remember safety is the most important thing and we still have a big day ahead." For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
