Strictly's Amy Dowden is 'super emotional' to be dancing in Wales again

Welsh Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Amy Dowden is about to embark on a dancing tour for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began. The tour locations will include Exmouth, Stourbridge and, of course, her home country of Wales.

Amy took to Instagram to express her excitement and emotions at being able to return to dancing and performing back in Wales. She said: "I know it's going to be super emotional dancing back in a theatre after two years! My first show being home in Wales too! Eeeeeekkkk!"

The dancing star added that she is excited and nervous as she wants her performances to be perfect and she will be dancing with her fiancé Ben James. The couple also have their summer wedding to look forward to, after originally planning on getting married in 2020 and having to push it back due to the pandemic.

She said: "6 more sleeps until we are back on stage dancing together again. I'm so excited but also nervous (as I'm a perfectionist)." Amy will be performing at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot on Sunday, April, 3 before continuing with the rest of her tour.

The 31-year-old from Caerphilly has been very open about her own health, often posting about her painful flare-ups from Crohn's disease and creating a BBC documentary about the illness. It has recently been revealed that she will be learning Welsh for the S4C series Iaith ar Daith.

Amy will also be getting her own BBC show in 2023 called Amy Dowden’s Dare to Dance where a person or group perform a dance choreographed by Amy to surprise their family or friends.
