Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden has married her professional dancer partner Ben Jones after a two-year Covid delay.
The pair exchanged vows at a five-star wedding venue at Gower Peninsula, South Wales, on Saturday, after first planning to tie the knot in July 2020.
“I always knew I wanted to get married in Wales,” the Caerphilly-born dancer told Hello Magazine.
“The day was a celebration of Ben and me.”
Some of Amy’s Strictly family attended, including bridesmaid Dianne Buswell.
Dowden and Jones met in 2011 but kept the relationship secret because they were worried about what their dance teachers would say.
The pair were engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2017.
Dowden has spoken out about living with Crohn’s, highlighting the challenges of the condition, which causes inflammation of the digestive tract.
She competed on Strictly with Tom Fletcher in 2021, and they both got Covid during the competition.
Dowden is now hosting a new BBC Wales television series, Dare to Dance, which is currently being filmed.
The format involved individuals or groups performing a routine to surprise their family or friends on a special occasion, choreographed by Amy.
