Fan favourite Aljaz is sure to have plenty support from the Geordie crowd as he is partnering County Durham's own Sara Davies, with the couple proving a real hit with viewers after finding out they were dancing together when meeting each other for the first time at the iconic Angel of the North last year.

Aljaz posted this on his Instagram (Instagram)

Sara and Aljaz join Rose and Giovanni, who have won every show so far and other couples like 2021 runners up John Whaite and Johannes Radebe and Maisie Smith and Kai Widdrington, with EastEnders tar replacing the injured AJ Odudu.

As he arrived on the banks of the Tyne, Aljaz snapped a picture of the Tyne Bridge from his hotel and captioned it: "Newcastle u beauty."

After being paired up with Sara, Ajaz tried his best to master a North East accent during their time on Strictly, with him shouting "howay!" every time they got through on the results shows.

Sara managed to convince some of her co-stars, including Rhys Stephenson and Tilly Ramsay, to take a trip to Tynemouth on Thursday morning, with them taking a dip in the sea at Long Sands, before heading to Crusoe's to warm up.
