Strictly pro Johannes Radebe shrugs off judges' scoring on Ellie Taylor's dance

Strictly Come Dancing pro Johannes Radebe had his say on the judges' low scoring after he and dance partner Ellie Taylor became the ninth pair to bow out of the competition.

After a jive to Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl on Saturday evening, the duo only managed to accrue 25 points - finding themselves bottom of the leader board.

Following on from a public vote, the pair were pitted off against Fleur East and Vito Coppola in a dance off - which they unanimously lost, waving goodbye to any hopes and dreams of raising the Glitterball Trophy.

The judging panel of Anton Du Beke, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Craig Revel Horwood gave scores of 7,7,6 and 5 respectively. On the night, Shirley said: "Well we're on week 10, I love the theme, I thought the narrative was good, I could see that you were enjoying it.

"But for me, the technique missed completely. It looked quite heavy... hang on, let's learn! It looked quite heavy and a little bit flat footed. When it got towards the end you started to slip your standing foot and it started to get a little bit lighter."

Appearing on Monday night's airing of spin-off It Takes Two, host Janette Manara spoke to the recently departed duo about their time on the show, before going on to speak about the elimination.

Touching on Craig's harsh score in particular, she said: "They were very tough on her, the judges, Craig specifically gave her a five. But I love that Ellie went 'It's okay, it's not a four!' she got really excited and said 'it's not a four.'

"How did you feel about the scores Johannes?"

To which the professional simply remarked: "Well listen, I wish them a merry Christmas and a happy new year" sporting a cheeky grin. Completely caught off guard, both Janette and Ellie burst into laughter, before the host added: "I love it...kindness goes a long way doesn't it Johannes?"
