Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas looks incredible at 58, with a toned figure most of us can only dream of.
While much of her toned figure is down to a lifetime of dancing, Shirley has also revealed her secret to staying slim in front of the cameras.
Speaking about her lifestyle choices on ITV’s Loose Women, Shirley admitted she hadn’t worried about her health until she hit her 50s.
She said: “For 50 years of my life I never weighed myself at all, I would go by how my clothes fit, but I was back in England to take care of my mother while she was getting better.
“The pounds crept on and I got a little bit nervous about it.”
She claimed she had become 10lbs heavier and decided to shift the weight with the intermittent fasting method.
The popular dieting trend involves cycles of fasting and eating, and is focused on when to eat rather than what to eat.
The diet essentially means a person is fasting for 16 hours every day, and restricting their eating to an eight-hour eating window.
This diet is also know as the 16/8 method.
Shirley said: “(Being telly ready) is to be the best you feel when you walk out on camera so you feel good in the clothes you've got on.
“It's not about what somebody else thinks about you, it's about what I feel like in my own clothes in my own skin.”
