Strictly icon Len Goodman dies aged 78 from cancer as tributes flood in for star

Strictly Come Dancing star Len Goodman has sadly died at the age of 78, surrounded by his close friends and family, following a battle with bone cancer.

The beloved Strictly judge had been placed in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, following 'a short illness', reports the Daily Record. It was confirmed that he passed away on Saturday night (April 22).

A spokeswoman for Len Goodman told MailOnline: "I can confirm he died peacefully over the weekend surrounded by his family."

Len's agent, Jackie Gill, has said in a statement: "It is with great sadness to announce that Len Goodman has passed away peacefully, aged 78.

"A much loved husband, father and grandfather who will be sorely missed by family, friends and all who knew him."

Len was a popular member of the judging panel on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, as well as being a professional ballroom dancer and coach.

Len had been part of Strictly from the beginning in 2004, until he left in 2016 - and also took part in Dancing With the Stars from 2005 until just last year, in 2022.
