Strictly hunk Tyler West hopes going topless on show will boost his chances of success

Strictly hunk Tyler West has a cool new plan to wow fans: going topless on the dance show.

The single DJ has literally been feeling the heat on the dance floor so hopes that peeling off his clothes will boost his chances of success.

Tyler, 26, has won over an army of fans since appearing on the show – and even head judge Shirley Ballas has been swooning over him.

The KISS FM radio host teased: “I think we are getting closer to getting topless. We are getting there. Maybe it’s time.

“I would do it just because I overheat, so the less the better for me.”

Tyler was recently linked to fellow Strictly celeb Molly Rainford, 21, after they were pictured together following the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards last month.

But he has brushed off talk of any romance, saying he’s too busy. “It was just the wrong place to be waiting for our cabs,” he said.

“Mols is wicked, she’s cool. You are having lunch together, training together… it is an intense schedule but there is no romance.

“I have been so focused on myself and dance, I wouldn’t have time to date. If you see my schedule, I don’t even have time to reply to a female even if they did message me. Looking forward to after the show, though. Who knows?”

Tyler said there have been no racy messages dropping into his inbox – but he has had questions about his unusual hobby of collecting torches.

“Everyone thinks my DMs are popping off but that’s not the case,” he said.

“People are more interested in talking about my torches.”

For now, the main woman in Tyler’s life is his mum Debs, 56, who works as an NHS nurse. He moved back in with Debs before Strictly to to save some money – and now she doesn’t want him to leave.

Tyler said: “Debs is living her best life on the Strictly journey. She doesn’t want me to move out. Talk about the cost-of-living crisis!

“She has been a rock in my life and on my Strictly journey. She always keeps my feet on the ground.”

Tyler, who danced a pasodoble with his pro partner Dianne Buswell tonight, is planning some big music projects post-Strictly and hopes to work with actor Idris Elba and singer Craig David.

“I would love to work with Idris or Craig, that would be the dream,” he said. “I am manifesting that.”
