Strictly fans left feeling 'sick' as they spot issue with Ellie and Johannes' dance

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left feeling "sick" as they pointed out an issue in Ellie and Johannes' dance.

The pair performed their American Smooth to 'You’re My World' by Cilla Black and whilst fans hailed the dance as incredible, others were left frustrated and distracted by the camera work in the routine. As part of the performance, Ellie buckled herself into a harness to allow her to be transported up above the dancefloor.

However, her being buckled in was caught on the cameras and fans fumed, insisting it ruined the "illusion" as they begged for changes to the camera work for the rest of the show. Frustrated fans took to Twitter to express their feelings over the gaffes.

One wrote: "What's up with the camera work? #Strictly It's making me feel nauseous," whilst another penned on social media: "What’s with the sound and the camera work tonight? #Strictly." A third shared: "Camera work on #Strictly making me sick."

"Omg the camera angles are horrific tonight! They keep missing the important steps, showing half of the bodies and are too far away at times #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing #strictlycomedancing2022," a fourth added.

Another wrote: "What in the heckaroonie was going on with the camera work during Ellie & Johannes' dance?!?! #Strictly."

One viewer slammed the production "gaffes" as they praised Ellie and Johannes.

"Yet more production gaffes in @EllieJaneTaylor 's dance: poor camera work again & we shouldn't have seen her in the background fastening her harness. She looked utterly beautiful, and @jojo_radebe is amazing," they wrote.

One viewer fumed: "Always some dodgy camera work on Blackpool week,it stops us seeing the dancing properly, along with the extra dancers, not my favourite week #Strictly," whilst another said it was "disappointing".

"Bit of a disappointing ending there as we saw Ellie struggling to get into that strap. The camera work seemed a bit shaky at times. Loved the song though. #strictly #StrictlyComeDancing," they penned.

Strictly Come Dancing returned to Blackpool for a very special show this weekend, three years after the show was last in the northern English city. The coronavirus pandemic had meant that the Strictly stars were unable to make their way up to the iconic ballroom for two series, but now they are finally back in the home of ballroom dancing.

Earlier this year, host Tess Daly explained how much Blackpool meant to them all, joking it was like a "school trip" for all involved.

"I'm thrilled, it's mine and Claudia’s favourite week, bar the final of course. We love it because we feel like we’re on a school trip, we have such a giggle from start to finish, we have fish and chips, we have a bit of a boogie after the show, and it's just really fun. It's iconic," she shared, "The ballroom is iconic and the audience is so much bigger than our studio audience, so the atmosphere in there is just always incredible. And it feels really exciting to be a part of that."

Claudia described Blackpool as a very special part of the show.

Asked how she felt about the return to the city, she gushed: "Thank goodness. I'm in love with Blackpool. Blackpool is without doubt the most welcoming place I have ever been in my life. It's all about Blackpool."

*Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday at 7.20pm on BBC One.
