Strictly dancers prepare for Blackpool performance as song choices revealed

This weekend the remaining Strictly Come Dancing stars will head to Blackpool - and BBC bosses have revealed the songs they will dance to this Saturday.

The tunes all eight remaining celebrities will waltz, samba and foxtrot to will feature an eclectic mix of hitmakers including Destiny Child, Rihanna and Cilla Black. Tony Adams was the latest celeb to leave the show on Sunday, after deciding to pull out due to injury.

He narrowly misses out on one of the best nights of the series - and the first time since the coronavirus pandemic that the programme will come live from the newly-refurbished Blackpool Tower Ballroom. There are now just eight couples left in the competition, as they aim to win the iconic Glitterball trophy.

And the dances and songs revealed for Blackpool Week are:

  • Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima: Paso doble to Only Girl In The World/We Found Love by Rihanna and Calvin Harris
  • Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe: American smooth to You're My World by Cilla Black
  • Fleur East and Vito Coppola: Couple's choice to Destiny's Child Megamix
  • Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez: Quickstep to Valerie by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse
  • Tyler West and Dianne Buswell: Salsa to KC and the SUnshine Band Megamix
  • Will Mellor and Nancy Xu: Samba to I Go To Rio by Hugh Jackman
  • Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal: American smooth to (The Theme From) New York New York by Frank Sinatra
  • Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu: Jive to Bandstand Boogie by Barry Manilow

One more will follow Arsenal legend Tony out of the competition this weekend and speaking about his exit, he told Strictly: It Takes Two: "They gave me the choice, they were very professional the BBC.

"The physio was first class, they said 'It's your decision Tony, do you want to go for it?' my wife said 'My mum's coming, you've got to dance', I looked into her eyes and she went 'Hmm... Come on!'"

He added: "It's been amazing, this has been great, coming on here every week and chatting to you guys, I've loved this more than the dancing. It's been incredible, I came onto the show with one message to get the message of mental health out there."
