Kristina Rihanoff was seen looking downcast as she stepped out for the first time since her breakup with Ben Cohen. The former Strictly Come Dancing couple, who had been together for 12 years, have now reportedly called it quits, adding yet another chapter to the infamous Strictly ‘curse’ saga.
Ben, 46, first met Kristina, 47, when he competed on the hit BBC show in 2013. Their relationship raised eyebrows at the time, as Ben split from his wife of 11 years shortly after, leading many to believe the so-called curse had struck again. However, he has always maintained that Kristina wasn’t to blame for his marriage breakdown, reported Metro.co.uk.
Now, it seems their love story has come to an end, and Kristina was seen leaving her yoga studio in Northamptonshire with a somber expression. Dressed in an all-black ensemble and wrapped up in a fur coat, she appeared deep in conversation on the phone, sunglasses perched on her head.
A source close to the situation claimed: “Ben left his wife Abby for Kristina, only to now split with her. It’s like the curse in reverse. This will be like karma for Abby; she was so upset when Ben left her. It’s like he has got his comeuppance.”
While Kristina and Ben have always insisted their romance didn’t start until after his separation, Abby struggled to accept the relationship at the time. She even publicly called out Kristina before later apologizing, saying the new romance ‘destroyed’ her life.
The timing of their split is particularly difficult, given that the pair recently went into business together. They launched their wellness center, Soo Yoga, pouring everything they had into the venture. With things falling apart, the couple put their £1.75million Northampton home on the market. Last year, reports surfaced that they were in serious financial trouble and facing the possibility of losing their mansion.
A friend of the pair admitted: “Those who know them as a couple had hoped they would work things out, but for now it’s over, and it looks like there’s no going back.” Ben, who shares two daughters with his ex-wife Abby, also has a daughter, Milena, with Kristina, born in 2016. For now, it seems this strict love story has ended, leaving Kristina navigating life—and business—on her own.
