Strictly Come Dancing viewers were devastated by a major switch up to the results night show which saw the opening professional performance axed.
Tonight the top five were wittled down to four to see who would be going head-to-head in the 2022 finals. Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daley opened the show but their appearance signalled a massive change to the show's usual opening routine.
Jumping right into the celebrities and dancers' run on the show, a montage sequence aired showing their growth throughout the competition.

This is completely out of the ordinary however as the opening of the results night show always kicks off with a routine performed by the Strictly Come Dancing professionals. It acts as one of the most exciting aspects of the series but it was axed tonight in favour of diving into the results.
Viewers instantly clocked the change as they shared their dismay online, as one fan said: "No pro dance this week is a big fat crime!!" Another added: "No pro dance?!? What the hell."
A third said: "Where was the Pro number?" Whilst a fourth added: "I was expecting at least 3 pro dances to fill the programme, but nothing so far, good lord."
