Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford tipped to represent UK at Eurovision 2023

It seems that Strictly Come Dancing's Molly Rainford could be back on a stage sooner than we think as she has been tipped to represent the UK at Eurovision 2023.

It has been reported that discussions are being held for her to be selected for the event which will take place in Liverpool next May. It comes as winners of 2022 - Ukraine - would be unable to host in their own country so it got passed to the UK as Sam Ryder came in second place.

Molly, who will perform tonight in the Strictly semi-finals, is keen to launch herself as a pop star. She originally found fame at 11 years old when she competed on Britain’s Got Talent as a singer where she sang Ave Maria.

A source close to the Eurovision team involved in selecting the British candidate told The Mail on Sunday: "Molly has all of the attributes to be a great act for the UK. She has a fantastic voice and she has a huge fan base.

"She is a real performer and has worked her way into the showbusiness industry through hard graft. She is the epitome of what the UK candidate should be.

"It’s very exciting. She has won massive new support by taking part on Strictly so hopefully the nation will be behind her."
