Strictly Come Dancing spoiler leak leaves fans 'devastated' at rumoured elimination

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left raging after an online leak revealed which contestants will be leaving in tonight's dance off.

The 20th series of Strictly is once again being hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, with Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke returning as judges. The 15 Strictly couples took to the dancefloor for their second performances in front of the judges and their fate has been left in the publics hands.

The pressure is on for the BBC ballroom dancing contestants, who faced no public vote last week, as the phone lines opened after the show for fans to vote for their favourite celebrity. The competition was strong as CBBC's star Molly Rainford, who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent aged 11, topped the leader board with Carlos Gu, reports the Mirror.

Although fans have to wait until Sunday nights instalment on BBC One to learn of the results, a TV spoiler Twitter account appears to have given away the name of the eliminated contestant. While the elimination will not be confirmed until Sunday evening, the Twitter account has been a long-running way for fans to find out who leaves.

The Daily Record has chosen not to reveal who leaves the competition or where the news can be found so fans can avoid spoilers ahead of tonight's live show. Twitter viewers were left fuming about the latest leak, with one writing: "It's not right!" A second posted: "I don’t think the right people were in the dance off or eliminated but there’s not much in it." As a third penned: "Oh dear, silly judges."

While Saturday's show saw the remaining celebrities take to the dance floor with their professional partners, Sunday is when the elimination is aired. At the end of every episode of Strictly we hear presenters Tess and Claudia tell us to "keeeeeep dancing" before they disappear from our screens.

However, no one actually leaves the studio at that point because the show carries on late into the night.

After a short break for the public to get their votes in, the judges, dancers and presenters all come back wearing different outfits so they can film the results show. Along with the costume changes, everyone keeps referring to "last night" when they discuss the main show so they can create the illusion that it hasn't been pre-recorded.

The contestants' scores from last week have been carried over to this weekend and will be combined with the viewers' votes, with the lowest scoring couples going head to head in the first dance off of 2022. The first results show of the series starts on Sunday 2 October at 7.15pm, beginning after the Antiques Roadshow.

The two couples with the fewest votes then go head-to-head in the dance-off, delivering another rendition of their performance from the live show. The judges then decide which couple they would like to save, and in the event of a tie head judge Shirley Ballas is given the casting vote.
