Will Mellor has revealed that he is left 'unable to walk' after each Strictly Come Dancing live show, due to a painful injury from his past.
Former Two Pints of Lager star Will went into week one behind Helen Skelton and Fleur East in the Strictly winner odds, but it took just one performance for him to leapfrog his rivals and be installed as favourite. The minute Will and professional dance partner Nancy Xu finished their week one jive to Ricky Martin's Livin' La Vida Loca, bookies were making some hasty changes to the betting to make Will, who first shot to fame in Hollyoaks in the mid-90s, the one to beat.
Even after his scores took a sharp drop a week later, bookies maintained their faith in Will, with him still at the top of the betting after his and Nancy's week three routine to Cry To Me from Dirty Dancing, which saw their marks take an upward turn again. However, with Will has been praised for making his performances look so smooth and effortless, the 46-year-old has shared that the reality is somewhat different.

Speaking to OK, Will said: "For that minute and a half on the dance floor I can be anybody, but after that I'm wrecked. I'm not sexy at all when I get home from dancing. I can hardly walk. I'm like Steptoe when I come through the door. My wife sees me hobble up the stairs and get straight into the bath."
Pro partner Nancy says that she's 'let him rest' if it becomes obvious that Will is in pain and, detailing the past footballing injury which has come back to haunt him, Will added: "I had cruciate and cartilage ligament damage in my knee, and I've had an operation, but I'm not using it as an excuse and I'm not trying to make the routines easier.
"There are just certain things I can't do so it's about managing my way through that."
This Saturday night, Will and Nancy will perform a rumba, a dance that has had very mixed results for celebrity contestants over the years.
