With just nine couples left, this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing is getting serious.

This Saturday will once again see the remaining celebrities and their partners perform in the hopes of impressing the judges and holding on to their places in the competition.

Last weekend’s live show saw the pairs pay homage to musical greats – including everyone from pop legend Madonna to rockers KISS – as Strictly staged its first ever Icons Week.

Sunday night’s results show saw Sam Quek and Nikita Kuzmin – who had been joint bottom of the leaderboard – in the dance-off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

After both pairs had performed their routines again, ex-England hockey player Quek was eliminated from the competition

Another star who won’t be dancing this week is Amy Dowden, who has been forced to pull out of the series due to injury. Pro dancer Lauren Oakley stepped in to replace Dowden on a temporary basis last week, but she will now be paired with JLS singer JB Gill for the rest of the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6.35pm on Saturday, November 9.
