Strictly Come Dancing's Shirley Ballas sends message to fans over lump on her arm

Shirley Ballas appeared on ITV's Lorraine this morning to talk about her time on Strictly.

While on the morning show, the Scottish TV host asked about Shirley's health after fans previously noticed a lump on the dance show judge's arm resulting in her getting a health check.

At the time, Shirley kept fans updated from her bed as she awaited results from her cancer scare.

On Lorraine today, the dancer gave an update on her health and the results she had received from doctors.

She said: "About nine different people thought they'd spotted this lump on my arm and then I went to the doctors to get checked and then they found other things.

"My hormone levels were all off and they were checking for various things.

"There was a little thing on my leg that we had to take off."

The 61-year-old continued as she praised the power of social media. She said: "I can only be grateful to the fans. Sometimes social media can be such a harrowing place and sometimes it can be magnificent.

"I have to say that the fans that are on my social media are really kind.

"They watch out for you and for that I thank them all - truly grateful."

In a previous health update, Shirley revealed that she had shadows on her kidneys but they were fine and doctors weren't worried about them, and some of the polyps that she had were fine too.

She also shared that she was cancer-free, in her positive health update, and had started to take Oestrogen to help to balance her hormones.
