Strictly Come Dancing's Kym Marsh gives 'dodgy day' verdict and thanks supporters

A Strictly celeb gave her verdict on a 'dodgy day' after ending up at risk of leaving the show. Kym Marsh told Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman she had a 'dodgy' day behind the scenes, after the show's judges highlighted her 'lack of confidence'.

Viewers argued she should have received higher scores, as reported by Chronicle Live. But the former Hear'Say singer and Coronation Street actress Kym suffered a massive blow to her Strictly experience last weekend when she and professional partner Graziano Di Prima ended up having to compete in the dance-off, despite finishing well up the leader board after their airline inspired samba.

For the first time this series all four Strictly judges were unanimous with their decision on who to keep in the competition out of Kym and Matt Goss, with them all voting to save Kym. She and Graziano were hoping to bounce back from their disappointment and avoid the bottom two with their Quickstep to Sweet classic Ballroom Blitz.

Their song choice was a nod to TV show Come Dancing, as Strictly celebrated the BBC's 100th birthday. Kym and Graziano were given prime position in the running order, as the final couple to take to the floor and had broadcasting legend Angela Rippon introducing them but, unfortunately their performance didn't live up to its billing in the eyes of the judges. Shirley criticised Kym's frame, while she and her colleagues also said they hoped and thought she'd have come out with more confidence.

And, it was when addressing those comments with presenter Claudia that Kym explained she'd had a bit of a wobble, saying: "I felt pretty confident going in...I've had a bit of a dodgy day when it comes to confidence, but the team and everyone here has just picked me up. I can't thank you all enough for that."

Kym earned a supportive round of applause from those around her, before she and Graziano received a score of 27 out of 40, a total condemned by plenty of viewers at home. One tweeted: "I loved it, I get what they said about her frame but there was more quality there. Really undermarked I thought"

Another remarked: "One of the best dances of the night, seriously under marked, especially by Shirley (quelle surprise)," with a third reacting: "Not sure how they scored below Jayde and Karen? All very strange!"
