Strictly Come Dancing's Kaye Adams's response to professional Kai Widdrington

Kaye Adams said her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kai Widdrignton was amazing to work with.

During their first week together they delivered a tango followed by a high-energy Charleston that saw Kaye spin, dip and flipped into the air. After the judges' comments, she was sadly eliminated following a dance-off.

Kaye, 59, admitted she was very much out of her comfort zone, relying on her partner and taking on all of the hurdles thrown at her. In her short on the show, Kaye flipped into a cartwheel and had some fancy blink-and-you'll-miss-it footwork.

She credited Kai for not only being a professional but making the process so easy to endure. Speaking to the ECHO, she said: "I could see that we shared the same sense of humour. If one of us made a remark the other instantly got it and when you know that is gonna happen then you think I'm gonna get on with this person.

"We got to know each other at a kind of rapid rate. I would say I probably leaned on Kai much more than he did on me but he's just endlessly positive and encouraging. He made it such a pleasure.

Kaye admitted that even though they both worked tirelessly with each other, they still managed to enjoy some downtime. She added: "I think we both just kind of instinctively knew when we needed a little bit of a break.

"Just to have a chance to have a coffee and watch some stupid YouTube videos was really fun, you know. It was just really, really easy. Which was so nice, because obviously you're suddenly thrown into a situation with somebody you've never met before.

"You could have spent all this time together, trying to get ready for this big performance. It could've been awkward but it just never was. It was always really, really easy."
