Strictly Come Dancing's Katya Jones 'having fun on secret dates' with former footballer

Strictly Come Dancing star Katya Jones has reportedly been 'having fun' while going on a string of 'secret dates' with a footballer.

The 34-year-old professional dancer went on dinner dates with former youth international footballer William Abbotts in Cheshire.

According to an insider, the two have been seeing each other for "a little while". William used to play football at youth level for Wales and Bolton before switching lanes to property development.

"He runs a successful business and it is clear he really likes Katya," the source claimed.

"Katya’s schedule will become incredibly busy when Strictly starts again this autumn so they’re not rushing into anything and are just having fun going out on dates together."

They added to The Sun that it's "not hard to see why Will is so taken with her".

It comes several months after Katya admitted she's "constantly husband hunting" after it was announced her ex Neil Jones got engaged and is welcoming a baby with Chyna Mills.

Katya and Neil were married in August 2013 after dating for five years. But, the pair called time on their marriage in August 2019 and announced they had separated after 11 years together.

Katya was among the first to congratulate Neil and Chyna earlier this month, sharing Neil's post on her Instagram story, and writing: "So happy for these two! @mr_njonesoffiicial You deserve all the happiness".

Katya, who has been on Strictly since 2016, opened up on her own relationship status, explaining she's always on the lookout for Mr Right.

The dancer told Closer Magazine: "I'm not dating anyone right now – but I'm constantly husband hunting!"

Thinking about the ideal attributes in a partner, the TV star continued: "I'd like someone who can add value to my life and handle a self-sufficient woman."

Katya went on to say dating apps have been "rubbish" for her, adding modern dating is "very complicated" and for now she's "enjoying the moment."

Meanwhile, Neil got down on one knee to propose to Love Island star Chyna in early April.

Chyna told Hello! magazine: "After the baby news, we were on cloud nine – and now this. It still doesn't feel real."

Neil later added: "I'd already planned to ask Chyna to marry me before we knew she was pregnant. Then we found out and I was like: "Oh, this is brilliant, everything is coming together."
