He might have got the boot from the competition last week, but it took just moments of Strictly Come Dancing's quarter final for Johannes Radebe to be hailed as the 'star of the show.'
There were tears in the BBC ballroom at the weekend when fan favourite Johannes, who finished second in the final alongside John Whaite last year, was eliminated from the new series of Strictly, with his 2022 pro partner Ellie Taylor. The pair had managed to avoid the dreaded dance-off for months but, were axed from the show the first time they fell into the bottom two, losing out to Fleur East and her pro partner Vito Coppola.
Ellie was visibly moved as she paid tribute to what a wonderful partner Johannes had been for and many fans watching at home were gutted to see him leave. However, he was back front and centre as Strictly made the switch from Saturday to Friday for its live quarter final. Following on from previous theme weeks, like Halloween and the BBC's 100th birthday, this week's show had took its inspiration from Musicals.

And that was a theme that very much evident from the get-go as the Strictly professionals joined together with a trio of West End stars to perform a medley of songs from a host of hit musicals and one of those was Grease, which saw Johannes steal the spotlight as he led a pack of Pink Ladies onto the dancefloor, while ex Aladdin star Trevor Dion Nicholas sang Grease's title track.
It didn't take long for Strictly fans to react in their droves to thrilled they were to see him. One tweeted: "Johannes as a pink lady is EVERYTHING," with another enthusing: "Johannes as a Pink Lady is iconic."
A third posted: "All we need is 3 mins of Johannes as a pink lady."
