Sex and Relationships expert Jess Leoni predicts that Helen Skelton will finally be able to allow herself to put her recent trauma behind her with the help of Strictly Come Dancing.
Helen Skelton is set to show off her dancing skills after singing up to the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The Countryfile star, 39, has become a household name in recent years, and her participation in the 2022 series of the BBC One competition is sure to catapult her fame even further.
The proud mum-of-three has been on TV for several years now, and she has enjoyed a successful presenting career, however in recent months, the TV star has faced heartbreak in her personal life following the breakdown of her marriage to ex-husband, Richie Myler.
Helen’s eight-year marriage to Myler ended in April, four months after their third child was born.
The TV star, who shares children Ernie, seven, Louis, five, and Elsie, seven months, with Myler, previously said of the split: “Very sad to say Richie and I are no longer a couple.
“He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
However, five months after her life-changing marriage breakdown, it seems as though things could be really looking up for Helen as Sex and Relationships expert Jess Leoni predicts that the 39-year-old will finally be able to allow herself to put her recent trauma behind her with the help of Strictly Come Dancing.
The expert at Illicit Encounters, a marital affairs site, exclusively told The Mirror: "I think it’s a brilliant move for her. She’s recently had a baby and if all the crying, baby fluids and lack of sleep’s not enough to put you off sex and dating, I don’t know what is.
"No doubt Helen won’t be ready to think about a new relationship right now but what Strictly will give her, is a chance to put all of her previous trauma behind her and focus on the man standing in front of her.
"The vast majority of members who are parents on Illicit Encounters have children over the age of 12, when they become less dependent on you and allow you more time to yourself.
"Helen has a way to go until she reaches this point but her Strictly journey will give her a welcome distraction with some likely overdue attention from a hunky dancer, and what’s sexier than salsa and sequins."
Helen reportedly signed up for Strictly just days after her split from Richie, who has since moved on with new love, Stephanie Thirkill, 32.
The TV star said she was nervous about taking part despite being installed as the second favourite at 6/1, behind singer Fleur East at 7/2.
Helen said: “I just wanted to wear nice dresses. I work on farms. I watch cows give birth and stand in wellies.”
She also said of finding time for the show while being a mum: “People keep saying you’ve got kids, how are you going to juggle it?
“Any mum who gets a chance to go to work and have their makeup done, their tea made and learn something fun, that’s a gift isn’t it?”
She joins EastEnders star James Bye, Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor, Bros singer Matt Goss, Kiss radio host Tyler West, ex-footballer Tony Adams and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Molly Rainford.
Paralympic champion Ellie Simmonds, comedian Jayde Adams, Coronation Street actors Will Mellor and Kym Marsh, Loose Women’s Kaye Adams, Radio 2’s Richie Anderson and wildlife cameraman Hamza Yassin complete the line-up, with a launch scheduled for September 7.
