Strictly Come Dancing's Helen Skelton backed by co-star Jayde Adams as she admits 'struggle'

Helen Skelton has got Strictly Come Dancing co-star Jayde Adams firmly in her corner, after making a candid confession that balancing being on the show with being a mum of three has been 'a struggle.'

Helen, who got her big break on TV as a presenter on Blue Peter has been very open about her confidence battle on Strictly from the get-go, with her appearance on the popular BBC show coming after her split from husband and father to her three children, Richie Myler, earlier this year, with the rugby star already expecting a child with his new girlfriend.

Before she'd even set foot on the dancefloor for the first live show, presenter Helen exited rehearsals through a fire door, before being coaxed back in by pro partner Gorka Marquez and then as the weeks have gone on and she has stayed in the competition, both Gorka and the Strictly judges have told her she needs to have more self belief.

Gorka made a very public bid to boost Helen's confidence on Saturday's live show, telling her: "It doesn't matter how many times I say it, or the judges say it, it's only you who can make the change and is the one who can believe in you. You are an amazing woman, you're inspirational; an amazing mum and incredible dancer, so believe in yourself please."

And someone else who is behind Helen all the way is comedian Jayde, who had an emotional evening herself in the Strictly ballroom on Saturday, when she danced to her late sister's favourite song. Jayde and Helen headed out for food together, with Jayde building Helen up in the caption, which read: "Two strong confident independent women, eating roast dinners after a big weekend. @helenskelton"

Jayde's meal out with Helen came as Helen opened up about trying to juggle being a Strictly contestant with mum to baby daughter Elsie and sons Ernie, seven, and Louis, five..

During an interview on Lorraine, she said: ""Of course, I struggle. I lump work into 'me time'. Not everyone does Strictly for their work. For me, lower the standards. My kids don't always go to school in fully ironed school uniforms sometimes. Delegate!"

This weekend, Helen will be take back to her TV roots when she and Gorka perform a Charleston to the Blue Peter theme tune for Strictly's special in honour of the BBC's 100th birthday.
