Strictly Come Dancing's Hamza Yassin reveals toll training has taken on his body on ITV's Good Morning Britain

Strictly Come Dancing's Hamza Yassin has revealed the toll training for the ballroom has taken on his body.

The 32-year-old wildlife cameraman revealed he'd shed more than a stone since signing up for the dance competition. He appeared on Good Morning Britain alongside professional dance partner Jowita Przystał to discuss this week's Strictly news.

The pair revealed that, in celebration of the BBC's one hundredth birthday, they would be dancing the quick-step to On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons this weekend. Each couple have their own theme for the occasion, and Hamza and Jowita's is natural history.

Hamza commented: "Hopefully it kind of marries... my love of natural history and Jowita's love of dance." He did clarify, however, that he would not be dressing up as an animal for the routine.

Hamza, a presenter on BBC’s Animal Park and a guest presenter on BBC’s Countryfile, has battled it out on the dancefloor for the first five weeks of Strictly. Host Richard Madeley asked: "Is it an optical illusion or is there a lot less of you than there was when you started?"

He added: "I'm going to ask - you've lost weight, haven't you?" Hamza replied: "I have yes, I have. I lost eight and a half kilos." He added: "All thanks to her," while gesturing to Jowita. "Nine hours a day, we're trying to train. And it's hard on the body, the knees, the legs are hurting," he admitted.

On Sunday night, Bros icon Matt Goss and dancer Nadiya Bychkova were eliminated from the competition. The pair found themselves in the dreaded dance-off alongside Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima after failing to impress the judges and scoring just 20 points.

After both couples had danced for a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts, with all four opting to save Kym and Graziano. During his brief exit chat with Strictly co-host Tess Daly, Matt broke into tears as he thanked everyone for welcoming him back to the UK after spending time in the States while he also said he wished his mum and sister could have been here to see him complete his latest challenge.

Strictly Come Dance continues on BBC One from 6.40pm on Saturday.
