Strictly Come Dancing's Gorka Marquez's sweet message to 'trusting' Helen Skelton ahead of Halloween showdown

Strictly professional dancer Gorka Márquez has given a sweet message to Helen Skelton ahead of the Halloween showdown this Saturday.

Helen and Gorka wowed the audience and judges with a Charleston to Blue Peter on last week's show, which celebrated 100 years of the BBC. The pair were top of the leaderboard, tied with Hamza Yassin and pro dancer Jowita Przystal.

The couple sat down with Strictly! It Takes Two presenter Rylan Clark on Friday night, where the professional dancer opened up about his feelings for the CountryFile presenter. In a sweet message, Gorka said "seeing her (Helen) happy is the most rewarding thing".

Gorka told Rylan: “I was super proud even just for like the work that I put in is more for her so she can see the work she puts in week by week has paid off. Seeing her happy is the most rewarding thing so I can see the joy and she had a good time and obviously the scores were an extra plus.”

He also opened up about how Helen instantly trusted him since the beginning of the competition which he dubbed as “important”. Gorka said: “That's amazing especially when you’re doing lifts but I think she’s not scared to fall on the floor you know, so that's very important.

“If someone's scared to do tricks or anything even if you trust the person you’re doing it with it's quite difficult but she’s not scared to be upside down and be facing the floor for 20 seconds so that's a very positive thing to have.

“She trusts me and I always said I will never let you drop on the floor, I will go first if possible if I have to fall.”
