There was some late drama in Strictly Come Dancing's results show this weekend as Tony Adams left the competition due to injury.
While his and pro partner Katya Jones ' scores haven't been the best, they have certainly made for entertaining TV, right from his week one Arsenal inspired tango to Go West to his Full Monty strip. To give former England defender Tony his due, he did have a massive improvement in Halloween Week, when his and Katya's Quickstep earned them their highest score to date.
The couple were back at the bottom of the leaderboard on Saturday night, when their jive failed to impress, despite the performance having some hilarious moments. That left Tony and Katya with a mountain to climb going into the public vote, and with Arsenal playing the same time Strictly was on, they didn't get enough votes to escape the dance-off once again, falling into the drop zone for the first time.
They landed in the bottom two, along with fellow first timers Tyler West and Dianne Buswell. But, before the judges had a chance to cast their votes, Tess announced that Tony had 'decided' to withdraw from the competition, therefore Tyler and Dianne would be through to Blackpool.
Head judge Shirley told Tony: "We have enjoyed every second of watching you, you are truly what this show is about and I can only wish you the very best."
Tony addressed his injury issues during a chat on It Takes Two earlier this week. Talking about his and Katya's jive routine, he said: "The last lift doesn't look that hard but it was killing my back and I said 'look, we're only going to practice this now and again.
"And I actually got the hammy string that attaches on the back there when I stretch like that, I can still feel it back there now, it kind of went on the Friday didn't it beforehand. And I'm like 'argh!', let's not do that."
