Strictly Come Dancing result sees Jayde Adams go home after 'shocking' bottom two

This weekend's Strictly Come Dancing result has sparked plenty of controversy, as Jayde Adams went home and consistent high scorer Molly Rainford landed in the bottom two, with judge Motsi Mabuse saying she was 'shocked' by the outcome as many fans branded it 'unfair.'

Saturday night's fifth live show of the new series saw the Strictly team honour the BBC's 100th birthday, with each of the remaining couples performing a theme from a famous BBC show or a song with a strong connection to one, like Fleur's jive to Waterloo, the song ABBA won Eurovision with.

There were some very tight scores on the leaderboard, with Helen and Gorka and Hamza and Jowita tied at the top and some congestion in the middle of the standings. This opened up the potential for another shock result, with Fleur East and Kym Marsh already both having to battle it out in the dance-off to stay in the competition.

Despite finishing bottom of the leaderboard, former Arsenal defender Tony Adams once again avoided the bottom two, with him called safe right before early frontrunner Molly Rainford was announced in the dance-off, alongside pro partner. They were then joined by Jayde and her professional Karen Hauer, after host Tess Daly announced the second set of results.

Before the dance-off had even happened, many viewers hit out at the fact that Mollie was in it. One tweeted: "How the f**k that the british public can put through james bye and Tony Adams but put molly Rainford in the dance off like it's called strictly come dancing not eastenders or England football like." Equally annoyed a second reacted: "I’m absolutely stunned Molly is one of the best dancers all I can say is WOW."

After both Molly and Carlos and Jayde and Karen danced again, it was down to the judges to decide who to keep in the contest. Craig kicked off the voting, opting to save Molly and Carlos, with Motsi making the same call. The result was then sealed by Anton, as he too voted in favour of Molly and Carlos. When asked for her opinion, Shirley said she too would have saved them, making it clean sweep.
