Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard as stars at risk of first axe ahead of Movie Week

Strictly Come Dancing returned for its second week live on Saturday evening, as the celebrities sashayed onto the dance floor with their professional partners once again.

The 20th series of Strictly is once again being hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, with Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke returning as judges.

The 15 Strictly couples took to the dancefloor for their second performances in front of the judges – with their fate in the public’s hands.

While there was no public vote last week, the pressure was on to get their steps right as the phone lines were open after the show for fans to vote for their favourite routines.

The contestants' scores from last week have been carried over to this weekend and will be combined with the viewers' votes, with the lowest scoring couples going head to head in the first dance off of 2022.

When is the first Strictly elimination?

To give all 15 of this year’s Strictly celebrities a chance there was no elimination during the first week.

The first elimination will take place during the first results show which airs on Sunday October 2 at 7.15pm.

Who is top of the leaderboard on Strictly?

CBBC star and singer Molly Rainford, who shot to fame on Britain’s Got Talent when she was just 11, was at the top of Saturday night’s leaderboard with partner Carlos Gu after their quickstep scored them 34 points.

Below them during the second week was same-sex couple radio DJ Richie Anderson and Giovanni Pernice, who also performed the quickstep and were awarded 34 points.

Who is bottom of the leaderboard on Strictly?

Bros singer Matt Goss and partner Nadiya Bychkova failed to impress the judges for a second week as they ended up in the bottom three with a score of 22, although they saw a slight improvement from last week’s 20.

The celebrity with a joint score on week two of Strictly was Arsenal football star Tony Adams, who is partnered with Katya Jones.
