Strictly Come Dancing issue 'sad' message for fans going to see live tour as stars are all smiles

Bosses behind the Strictly Come Dancing's live tour has sent a message to those heading to one of its shows.

The stars of the show were all smiles on Sunday as they headed on the tour bus for the first time.

They spent last week rehearsing for the string of arena show and have now headed to their first venue to continue their practice until first show in Birmingham on Thursday (January 20).

But there is a message for anyone going to see the show - which stops in Manchester on January 29 and 30 at the AO Arena.

Shared on the Strictly live tour social media channels, the message read: "We can’t wait to get the show on the road this week.

"As we are doing all we can to keep everyone safe and well so that we can perform as scheduled, this year the cast will not be able to sign autographs, meet audience members or take photos with them.

"We hope you understand this is done so that we can keeeep dancing and thank you in advance for your support and understanding."

Many fans quickly started commenting, stating that they were 'gutted' by the news while also in complete understanding.

"It’s so sad but it’s so important! keeping the show on the road for the full tour is the priority and keeping the cast and crew safe! i’m just so happy we get to see them dance in real life and not through a screen! it’s gonna be magical either way," @rose.and.gio commented.

@eddo_official said: "Beyond gutted to hear this but I respect it entirely. The health of you all and keeping the show on is top priority."

"Sad as this is, totally understandable and still looking forward to the show," @angelinaballerina1607 commented.

@ strictly_girls_superfan added: " Such a shame but I completely understand why this decision has been made! I’m just happy to still be able to see the show!"

Over the weekend, Rhys Stephenson took to Instagram with a video of Strictly 2021 winner Rose Ayling-Ellis heading for the tour bus.

Excitedly smiling for the camera, the EastEnders actress reshared the video and said; "I'm going on tour!!"

Cameron Lombard, who joined Strictly as a professional dancer last year, also took to Instagram with a snap alongside Kai Widdrington.

The pair looked thrilled to be going out on the road while Tilly Ramsay photobombed them.

"Tour Life," Cameron captioned the photo as they posed in front of the bus.

2020 alumni Max George, who is also heading on the tour, has been keeping his update with the antics on the bus as well as backstage at the arena, with a spot of table tennis on the go.
