Strictly Come Dancing fans say 'protect Hamza Yassin at all costs' as he says he's 'too big to jive'

Strictly Come Dancing celebrity, Hamza Yassin, released something primal on social media during the second live show tonight, October 1, as he claimed he was "too big to jive" after disappointing comments from the judging panel. Viewers immediately took to social media saying he "needed to be protected" and that he shouldn't need to feel negatively about his own body..

The wildlife cameraman and presenter danced the jive to Blinding Lights by The Weeknd with partner, Jowita Przystal, and scored 24 - 10 points down on his opening week performance.

Judge Shirley Ballas told the pair: "I'm a fan because you have an extremely infectious smile, everything about your energy is just fantastic. But on this occasion, unfortunately, I have to agree with Craig a little bit. It was a little bit back weighted and that's why it felt a little bit heavy. You've got to be able to be absorbed through your legs and feet so that you get that little bit of retraction but there was a nice link there. And one other timing thing, when you stopped to do tricks and highlights you came to a complete stop." Shirley did add that next week was a new week, though. Motsi Mabuse told him to push through.

Hamza and Jowita then went up to Claudia Winkleman, where Hamza said: "I'm just too big for the jive."

Both Claudia and Jowita said it wasn't true, with the professional dancer adding: "You're not too big for the jive. You did everything I asked for. I see the talent."

Fans were absolutely behind Hamza. One Twitter user said: "Poor Hamza said he was too big, not true at all!!!" And brussalis tweeted: "Hamza, do not body shame yourself, you’re great!! Protect him at all costa[sic]" Bethan Ackerley said: "Hamza must be protected #strictly " While Caitlin Magnall-Kearns added: "Hamza saying he’s too big to jive NO YOU AREN’T KING !!!"
