Strictly Come Dancing: Craig Revel Horwood reveals who he thinks could win this year’s series

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has shared who he thinks could win the 2022 series, during an appearance on The One Show on Tuesday, August 30. The Strictly veteran, 57, was chatting to Alex Jones and Ronan Keating ahead of the series' return later in the month. Professional dancer, Kevin Clifton, and former Strictly star, Maisie Smith, also appeared on the show.

Whilst on the sofa, Craig gave his thoughts on this year's contestants. You can find out all of the celebrities that will be taking to the dancefloor here.

When asked about who he thought could win the series, Craig said: "I don't know. I am looking forward to seeing Will, I've got to say. I think he's got a real charm about him.

Craig shared his thoughts on the 2022 contestants (BBC)

"I haven't seen anybody dance but I just love the plethora of characters in there, because they are all so different and I think that's what is so great about it.

"Four new dancers as well coming into it, and they are just amazing, so I can't wait. Of course I am gonna miss the old lot as well and Bruno [Tonioli] as well and all that, but you know things move on darling don't they.

"It's gonna be fantastic and the energy this year is something fierce. I have had a little sneak preview... I'm super excited about it."

The upcoming Strictly Come Dancing launch show - which will see the celebrities paired with their professional partners for the first time - will record on Wednesday, September 7 and be broadcast on BBC One on either Saturday, September 10 or Saturday, September 17. This will be confirmed in due course.

Similar to previous years, the celebrities will then get time to rehearse a dance routine with their new partners. The first live show of the series will be on Saturday, September 24 on BBC One, the series will then continue weekly as normal through to Saturday, December 17 with the live final.
