Strictly Come Dancing costume designer gets to work on 2020 dresses as launch approaches

One of the Strictly Come Dancing costume designers has revealed that she's started work on the 2020 wardrobe.

The Strictly launch show is thought to be airing at the end of October, with the professional dancers already starting training at a secret hotel this week.

And dressmaker Theresa Hewlett is getting to work too as she took to Twitter to reveal how she's preparing for the new series.

She shared a picture of the notebook she uses to jot down all her ideas for costumes, which had "Strictly 20 !!!" written on the first line and "Here we go —" scribbled in the top right corner.

Placed on her notebook was a tape measure and a pair of fabric scissors.

"Eek !! @bbcstrictly," Theresa captioned the photo tagging the show's official Twitter account.

The picture left fans excited for the beginning of the 2020 series.

One tweeted: "Thank you so much for this. You've got no idea how relieved I am to know that it's actually going ahead this year."

"Woohoo can't wait! Finally something to look forward to," another posted.

A third said: "Oh I can't tell you how happy this makes me to see your notepad!"

Strictly Come Dancing will go ahead as planned but with new safety measures to protect its cast and crew from coronavirus.

The dancers are all isolating together for the next few months to train for the show, with reports that their celebrities will be joining them shortly.

There will also be a skeleton TV crew on set and the judges won't be allowed big entourages.
