Strictly Come Dancing 2022 finalists as semi final ends in tears

The Strictly Come Dancing 2022 finalists have finally been revealed.

After a nailbiting series filled with showstopping performances, heading through to the finals are Molly Rainford and her partner Carlos Gu. The pair found themselves in the dance-off multiple times throughout the series but their fire and determination paid off as they were the first couple revealed to be through to the final.

As soon as their names were announced the pair screamed and embraced each other with excitement. Carlos became teary-eyed as he said it meant so much to him before Molly echoed his thoughts, adding it's been a pleasure to be his first-ever partner.

Presenter Helen Skelton and her partner Gorka Márquez will also join the finals as a power couple that sailed through the competition. Receiving great praise throughout their run on the show, Helen said: "We're so overwhelmed and thank you to everyone that's voted and taken one moment of joy from any of our dances, just thank you."

Fan favourite and bookies' bet to win, Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal also booked their place in the final as the underdog of the season. During the cast reveal, he was predicted as an early out simply for not being in the spotlight as much as his fellow competitors but he's proved the critics wrong by delivering show-stopping performances week after week.

Singer Fleur East and Coronation Street's Will Mellor found themselves in tonight's dance-off but in the end, it was Fleur that came out victorious. Craig Revel Harwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas all agreed it was her game to continue which meant the show said goodbye to Will.

Thanking the judges and show for everything, Will said: "You can achieve more than you think. I'm so proud of what we've achieved but thank you so so much for all of the messages and love we've received." His dance partner Nancy Xu struggled to keep it together but added: "We've had such an amazing journey together."

The Strictly Come Dancing final airs this Saturday, December 17 at 7:05 pm on BBC One.
