Strictly Come Dancing 2022 couples - who is with who as new series starts

It took until the night before this year's live shows start for the couples for Strictly Come Dancing 2022 to be announced. The reveal of which celebrities are paired with which pro dancers went right to the wire after the launch episode was delayed by a week.

It seems like an eternity since the Strictly line-up was confirmed in full, with the likes of Helen Skleton, Tony Adams, James Bye and Fleur East all strutting into the ballroom this time round. Judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel-Horwood are all back behind the desk, while Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are on hosting duty once again.

The Strictly launch show was meant to air on Saturday, September 17, but that was postponed until Friday, September 23 in the aftermath of the Queen's death, with Paddington replacing it on the BBC One schedule.

Bookies have been offering odds on who will won this year from the moment the first few celebrities were announced, with Helen Skelton edging just ahead of Fleur East as new favourite, just hours before the pre-recorded launch episode went out on TV. Who each star is partnered with could make all the difference and, after last Saturday's first live show, bookies swiftly altered their odds to put Will Mellor as the new favourite.
