Strictly Come Dancing has announced Bristol star Jayde Adams as their latest dancer. The next series of the ballroom competition is expected to air in Autumn, but Strictly has already started rolling out its competitors.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the show revealed the Bedminster comedian, actor and TV presenter as their newest dancer. BBC Strictly said: "From stand-up to #Strictly! Award-winning comedian Jayde Adams joins our class of 2022!"
Fans of the star were quick to reply to the tweet, expressing their delight about the news. @hillsgib2008 said: "Now we know why your your was rescheduled @jaydeadams this is amazing!"

@charline84 added: "She'll be fabulous. Love her. Her and @jojo_radebe together would be."
Jayde said that keeping the news secret has been 'hell'. She replied to the tweet: "Holding this in at Edinburgh Fringe has been hell."
Having moved to London when she was 18, Jayde has recently moved back to Bristol. Her return was the subject of a funny yet emotional documentary broadcast on BBC1 as part of the We Are England slot back in April.
Viewers saw Jayde explain that she wanted to return home to be nearer her family, after moving to London to make her career in the entertainment industry, and also because she wanted to be somewhere where her South Bristol accent wasn’t considered odd. The film showed her meeting up with an old school friend and her favourite music teacher at St Mary Redcliffe School.
Aside from the Bristolian comedian, Strictly Come Dancing has already announced presenter Richie Anderson and Coronation Street stars Kym Marsh and Will Mellor as entrants on this year's series. The latest edition of the show will see the return of a live studio audience as Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted.
