Strictly and I'm A Celebrity star shares picture of Aberaeron saying she's 'dreaming' of being there in summer

A Strictly Come Dancing and I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star has said that the nights drawing in means she can "only dream" of summer in Wales. Former Strictly judge and I'm A Celebrity contestant Arlene Phillips has posted a photo of herself in Aberaeron saying that she is dreaming of summer back there.

Posting a photo of her posing on a harbour wall and smiling at the camera Arlene said: "As the night comes creeping in earlier and earlier, I'm reminded that winter is coming despite the mild weather today so I can only dream of one summer day in #aberaeron"

Arlene also joked she was waiting in Aberaeron for better weather. She said: "When I sat on a wall with a smile waiting for the sun to come out and realising it wasn't much of a summer anyway! Let's hope there are a few more sunny days" followed by an orange love heart emoji.

The I'm A Celebrity star also has connections to Wales as she entered Gwrych Castle in 2021 which was the temporary location of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! during the coronavirus pandemic. She was the show's oldest ever contestant, aged 78, and was the first celebrity eliminated from the 2021 series.

During the series, her fellow campmate, Richard Madeley, had to leave the castle when he became ill and a storm meant for the first time ever that I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here was not shown live on air. Shows were cancelled and the format was changed to adjust to the disruption.

Arlene was a judge on Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2009 when she was replaced by Alesha Dixon. The star has recently posted on her Instagram that she is "always" compared to current Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas as the two posed together at the Pride of Britain Awards.
