Capcom has shown off alternate costumes for all 18 characters featured in Street Fighter 6, featuring a mixture of new and old threads for fighters.
Street Fighter 6 is out tomorrow (check out our Street Fighter 6 release times to find out when) and while we already gave it a 5/5 in our Street Fighter 6 review, Capcom has managed to get us excited again by showing off the alternate costumes for all 18 of the game's playable characters.
The Street Fighter 6 Outfit 2 trailer shows us what costumes will be available for each character at the launch of the game. The returning cast will be sporting their original appearances in Street Fighter 2 (barring Juri, who wasn't in that game and instead opts for her Street Fighter 5 appearance). Meanwhile, the new blood gets their own fresh set of drip giving us a look at what these characters dress up like outside of battle.
Capcom also clued us in as to how to obtain these costumes in-game with the description: "Unlock Outfit 2 for each character during your adventures in World Tour. Alternatively, Outfit 2 also can be purchased instantly with Fighter Coins". So players who don't want to put in the grind for World Tour mode can simply pay some of the game's premium currency instead.
Streetwear
I love these costumes! Bringing the classic looks for the Street Fighter 2 cast back is a solid move, but the costumes for the newcomers are the real main event. Even through clothing alone these give you more of an idea of these new characters' personalities. My personal highlight has to be Marisa, who has gone from a character I enjoy to one I want to pick up as a main because of how good her alternate costume is.
It's nice to see that Capcom is offering at least one of the game's costumes for free, especially since the characters classic looks are the outfits most players will be excited to get (for context, classic looks were sold as 'Nostalgia' costumes in Street Fighter 5). That being said, it's most likely each subsequent costume will only be available through the premium Fighter Coins currency if these are unavailable with Drive Tickets.
If Capcom follows other games with its battle pass, players will at the very least be able to earn fighter coins through that. However, pricing for fighter coins and the battle pass are unavailable at this time so it's a mystery for now.
