A woman living close to the scene where a schoolboy died after being hit by a car has said the area has "never been so quiet" in the aftermath.
Emergency services attended Abingdon Road, Walton after a 10-year-old boy was hit by a Ford Puma at around 4.30pm on Thursday (April 20). People living on the road rushed to help before the boy was taken to hospital, where he died on Friday morning (April 21).
Following his death, tributes have been left at a tree near to where the incident occurred. Flowers, cards and a Liverpool FC scarf have been left at the tree, along with a bottle of hydration drink Body Fuel.

A message left with the bottle read: "I'll miss your funny jokes and witty comments and doing cross country with you. Here's your favourite drink to take up with you. Love your friend Recce."
People have also paid tribute to the boy on the ECHO's Facebook page.
Hatawa Chow said: "So heartbreaking. Can't stop thinking about this poor little boy and his family and friends it's like our whole community has gone into mourning, it's never been so quiet even though a lot of us didn't even know him you can actually feel the sadness so young poor little boy".
Emma Callan said: "Rest In peace little man, thoughts are with family and friends xxx"
Laura White said: "Deepest sympathy to the family of your beautiful boy". Helen Roberts added: "So sad. Thoughts are with the family. Rest in peace little man xx".
Other tributes at the scene said: "RIP Charlie. Gone but never forgotten, always in our hearts. YNWA" and "We miss you Charlie".
About the incident, Detective Sergeant Amy Murray said: “Our thoughts and condolences are with the family of the boy who has sadly lost his life following a road collision on Thursday.
“The family are being supported by our specially trained liaison officers, and we have launched an investigation into his death.
“I urge anyone who witnessed or has information on this incident to please contact us. Alternatively, if you were driving in the vicinity I ask that you please check your dashcam footage for anything that have captured something which will assist in the investigation the incident.
“Every piece information or footage could be vital in establishing what happened."
