Not every dog is lucky enough to secure a loving home from birth - some have to spend their lifetime searching for a family to call their own.
Poor Scribble was living on the streets as a stray when he started following people home in hope they'd accept him into their family.
The three-month-old was picked up by rescuers in Manenberg, Cape Town, after they spotted him trying to rehome himself.
Discovered with an injured leg, Sidewalk Specials, a rescue dedicated to saving dogs from abusive situations, took him to a vets to be examined.

A Sidewalks Specials spokesperson said: "Scribble was kicked so hard he now walks with a permanent limp. He was trying to follow people home in the hope of receiving some love.
"Within hours of rescue he was booked to go on Expresso Morning Shows adoption segment, all thanks to Hill’s pet nutrition. What a difference a day made for this little homeless puppy."
Although Scribble wasn't able to secure a home by following strangers on the street, his five minutes of fame helped him land a loving family.
The spokesperson added: "Scribble is very much adopted. His home checks passed, his forms are filled and his mommies and fur brother are waiting in anticipation!"
The collie cross was taken on a two-hour flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg to meet his new family - and it didn't take long for him to settle into his new home.
Despite his upsetting start to life, Scribble remains one of the lucky ones who managed to secure a home, as an estimated 2.7 million animals in the UK find themselves in shelters each year.
According to PetKeen, about 1.2 million are cats, 664,000 are dogs, and another 184,000 are other animals such as rabbits, guinea pie and snakes.
A statement from RSPCA reads: "On average every 30 seconds someone in England and Wales dials 0300 1234 999 for help. In 2019 we received 1,218,364 phone calls.
"We have frontline officers - including 273 RSPCA Inspectors and 90 Animal Rescue Officers (AROs) working to prevent cruelty and promote kindness to animals in England and Wales.
"Every day our frontline staff are out in England and Wales, responding to emergencies, rescuing animals, saving lives.
"Trained, equipped and ready to go, wherever and whatever the situation. When it comes to animal welfare we are confident, compassionate and quick to react."
