There is another epic twist for Stranger Things fans to get their heads around - Hopper and Joyce's full on embrace wasn't even scripted.
Winona Ryder and David Harbour did their own thing during the steamy scene, viewers have just found out.
The pair shared their first kiss when they were in Russia, attempting to escape the labor camp and fighting the Demogorgon monsters.
It looked superbly acted and well planned - but there was more to it than we first thought.
Stranger Things revealed all with the highly-anticipated final two feature-length episodes of season four this weekend.
But one of the most talked-about moments wasn't even supposed to happen.
The verified Stranger Things Twitter account told all - and it just added to the intense drama of the cult show.
They revealed: "This kiss wasn't scripted, Winona and David added it on the day of filming."
Fans were left in shock at the news after getting over the actual snog.
One put: "Wait you're telling me that Joyce and Hopper kiss wasn't scripted???"
Another wrote: "Just finished watching stranger things 4... still need to elaborate the fact that Joyce and Hopper FINALLY KISSED".
A third wrote: "Wow not scripted... there's so much to these characters already."
Last month, Netflix defended its decision to release the latest instalment all in one go rather than on a weekly basis after receiving backlash from fans.
Many viewers think if a new episode dropped every seven days then the hit sci-fi show could have ‘owned the next nine weeks of conversation’.
Peter Friedlander, the streaming service's head of scripted series for US and Canada, told Variety: "For the fans of Stranger Things, this is how they’ve been watching that show, and I think to change that would be disappointing.
“To not give them exactly what they’ve been expecting—which is Stranger Things is a seasonal experience, they go through that with them. I think that it would be an abrupt change for the member.”
He continued: “We fundamentally believe that we want to give our members the choice in how they view. And so giving them the option on these scripted series to watch as much as they want to watch, when they want to watch it, is still fundamental to what we want to provide.
"And so when you see something like a batched season with Stranger Things, this is our attempt at making sure we can get shows out quicker to the members.”
