Storm Otto has left many travellers at Bristol Airport experiencing delays and cancellations to their planned journeys this afternoon (February 17). Pictures of the departure lounge appear to show a departure board that consists mostly of delayed flights, as well as very busy waiting areas surrounding the departure boards.
The airport states that a "limited number of flights" have experienced delays and diversions, adding that the "majority of flights remain operating as normal" and that "reactionary delays" are possible as the evening progresses. Storm Otto has not been forecasted to affect the West Country, but it did prompt a yellow weather warning for wind from the early hours of today up until 2pm this afternoon up north.
Winds reportedly reached up to 75mph on some parts of the north east coast and up to 70mph in parts of Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
